How to Avoid Making Big Mistakes at the Pool This Summer

|

It’s our first full summer here at The Pointe North Hills and we know everyone is excited to spend it at Arkansas’ largest private residential pool

But making a mistake like bringing too many guests or drinking in the pool could get you kicked out and ruin your epic pool day plans. We don’t want that to happen!

All the community pool rules are covered in your Resident Handbook, which you can find in our resident app or on the resident portal

But if you’re looking for a quick overview, we are here to help break down the most important (and most often broken) pool rules. Read this over to get our tips so you can have the best summer ever and avoid making mistakes!

Bring Your Pool Pass

The most common mistake residents tend to make is forgetting their pool pass at home.

The Pointe North Hills is private property, and all our amenities are available exclusively to residents and their guests. So, we need to see your pool pass to verify you are a resident here!

If you do not have a pool pass yet, just stop by the front office to pick one up. But don’t lose it or you will have to pay a $50 replacement fee.

This wristband doesn’t have to be worn on your person, but you do always need to have it with you and show it to the concierge on duty to enjoy the pool.

With your pool pass, you can also bring up to two guests with you. Don’t make the mistake of bringing too many people or leaving your guests alone. We will have to turn them away!

Leave Parties to Us

Speaking of too many people, another common mistake people make is thinking they can throw a party for all their friends at the pool. Sorry, but that’s our job!

Every Thursday when the weather is nice and warm, we host happy hour at the pool and serve complimentary drinks. Plus, if you love live music, you’re going to have a blast at our Summer Music Series.

Don’t want to get charged a $300 fee for breaking the rules? Keep your kegs, cakes, decorations, and games at home and leave the party planning to us.

Be Careful with Food and Drinks

We already mentioned that Thirsty Thursday happens every week here at The Pointe North Hills, but did you know there is always a food truck here then, too?

So, you know that food and drinks are allowed in the pool area. The key here is to remember you can have them at the pool, just not in the pool.

Please don’t make the mistake of taking your food or drinks into the pool with you or leaving them on the pool’s edge. Spilled beverages can toy with the pool chemistry and food can be very difficult to fish out once it starts dissolving.

PS: Don’t forget that glass is a big no-no not only at our pool, but every pool in the state. Glass containers are strictly forbidden!

Dress Appropriately

Skimpy swimwear may be in style but wearing it to the pool would be a big mistake. Thongs, tattered tops, and see-through swimwear are all not permitted under the pool rules.

We also don’t allow wearing anything other than swimsuits while swimming. Please don’t jump in the pool wearing your street clothes!

It’s important that residents and guests of all ages feel comfortable coming to the pool, so please dress appropriately. We will ask you to leave the pool area to go home and change your clothes if you are found wearing anything inappropriate.

Should you need to enter the clubhouse while visiting the pool, please remember you must be completely dry and wearing a cover-up and shoes with your swimsuit.

Accessorize Appropriately

Now that you know what you can wear to the pool, you need to know how to accessorize!

Bringing any of the following items with you would be a big mistake:

  • Grills (Hello – we already have full grilling stations at the pool waiting for you!)
  • Flotation devices other than life jackets or “floaties”
  • Styrofoam equipment
  • Wheeled vehicles (skates, skateboards, bikes, etc.)

It’s also imperative that you leave your pets at home. While we love having them here in our pet-friendly community, the pool is no place for pets.

So, what can you bring with you?

Coolers, card games, and small Bluetooth speakers are all perfectly acceptable poolside accessories that come to mind.

Never Smoke

The Pointe North Hills is a proud smoke-free community. This means all common areas, including the pool, must be kept smoke-free.

It’s common to mistake vaping as an approved substitute, but that would be incorrect!

Inhaling, exhaling, breathing, or carrying any lighted or heated cigar, cigarette, electric cigarette, or vaporizer containing any kind of plant product or chemical qualifies as “smoking” and will not be allowed at our luxury apartment community.
