The Dos and Don'ts for Your Balcony or Patio

|

As the weather gets warmer here in North Little Rock, we know you want to spend as much time as possible outside. What better place to get some Vitamin D than on your own private balcony or patio?

But before you do, there are a few community guidelines we need you to follow!

Keep reading to get some suggestions on decorating your space and make sure you’re straight on all the rules for your luxury apartment home

Cleaning

When you walk or drive around our community, all the patios and balconies are very visible. That’s why it’s so important to keep them clean and tidy!

Making sure that our luxurious community stays luxurious is one of our main priorities, and we need your help to maintain the exterior beauty of every building.

Don’t

Your patio or balcony is not to be used for general storage. That’s why you have a storage closet!

If you find that the closet does not suffice for your storage needs, talk to our team about renting a storage unit in your building.

We also ask that no trash, kegs, laundry, or other unsightly items are left on your balcony or patio.

Do

Keep your patio or balcony clean, neat, and orderly with the appropriate patio furniture, potted plants, and outdoor décor.

If at any time you notice one of your railings comes loose, submit a service request so we can fix it promptly!

Accessories

Spring and summer offer the best weather for enjoying your private outdoor patio or balcony. But do you know what kinds of outdoor accessories are allowed or disallowed?

Don’t

Here are a few examples of accessories we consider no-no’s here at The Pointe North Hills:

  • Antennae, satellite dishes, radio poles, etc.
  • Hot tubs and spas
  • Umbrellas, sheds, bicycles, playhouses, and similar structures

North Little Rock fire codes also dictate that gas or charcoal grills cannot be used within ten feet of any apartment building.

This means that personal grills of any kind should not be used on your balcony or patio.

Do

Thankfully, whenever you’re ready to grill and chill, we have plenty of grilling stations you can use all over the community.

We also have hammocks, picnic tables, ping pong tables, and more outdoor amenities waiting for you!

Decorations

It’s always exciting for us to see how you make your apartment your home, including outside on your private patio or balcony.

We hope you have fun decorating the space and creating your own outdoor oasis. Just remember there are dos and don’ts for your décor, too!

Don’t

Small outdoor rugs are totally okay by us, but we require you to refrain from laying down full patio carpeting or AstroTurf.

Hanging décor from any part of your patio or balcony, including your door, window, wall, or railings is another no-no. This includes items like flags, banners, curtains, etc. or any excessive or flashing lights.

Do

Only conventional patio furniture is allowed here at The Pointe North Hills, and any furniture you buy needs to be of high quality. Pieces constructed primarily of metal, glass, rattan, or wood are all acceptable.

If you need some suggestions on where to shop for the perfect outdoor décor, here are a few of our favorite retailers:

We also highly recommend adding some living color to your patio or balcony with your favorite flowers, herbs, or plants!

You can find some of the best outdoor plants from local nurseries nearby:
