The Pointe North Hills - Door

Welcome to the fifth and final installment of our New Resident Guide

We polled our staff and our residents to discover their favorite spots to eat, shop, and explore in Little Rock. Now, we can share them with those of you moving to Little Rock and making your new home in our luxury apartment community.

After highlighting all the best photo spotsoutdoor trailslocal restaurants, and nightlife spots around town, we are excited to finish this series off with something really special: history and art.

The four Little Rock museums highlighted in this guide will open your eyes to past civilizations, modern art, exciting science, and important history. There’s so much to see and do, so let’s get started!

Museum of Discovery

Exciting news! After disaster struck last winter causing a six-month closure for repairs and renovations, the Museum of Discovery is reopening on August 21, 2021!

There, you can encourage your curiosity and use your imagination with all their unique and interactive exhibits that teach you about space, math, engineering, archaeology, animals, and so much more.

Once you visit and get hooked, you will be happy to hear they offer incredible educational programs and host fun events (like Tinkerfest 2021 scheduled for September). You can even book field trips and birthday parties there. It’s amazing!

PS: If want to see them stay open and continue to succeed, consider donating here.

Clinton Library

When you sit down to think about what Arkansas is known for, the 42nd President of the United States of America is mostly likely what comes to mind. (He’s kind of a big deal!)

Little Rock has been home to the William J. Clinton Presidential Library & Museum since 2004, preserving and celebrating the legacy of President Clinton.

Between the replicas of the Oval Office and the Cabinet Room, the thousands of archived photos and videos; and cases of gifts President Clinton received while in office, there is so much to see at this beautiful museum in Downtown Little Rock

Throughout the years, the museum has also hosted incredible temporary exhibits on everything from fashion to dinosaurs. There is even a fabulous restaurant on site with a beautiful outdoor patio overlooking the Clinton Presidential Park Bridge and the Arkansas River.

Make a reservation to check it out!

* As of August 2, 2021, the museum is temporarily closed due to an increase in local COVID-19 cases. It had just re-opened in July to visitors, so check their website for updates before you go.

Central High School

Did you know one of the most significant events in civil rights history happened right here in Little Rock?

If you’ve never heard of the Little Rock Nine and the events that occurred in 1957, you need to visit Little Rock Central High School. It is a designated National Historic Site that also offers a visitor center where you can relive stories and gain an understanding of the impact this site has had on our culture.

Under normal circumstances, the center would offer guided tours and educational programs. However, due to COVID-19, these programs have been suspended.

Until things re-open, we recommend you try scheduling a virtual visit!

* As of August 7, 2021, the visitor center is temporarily closed due to an increase in local COVID-19 cases. Check their website for updates before you go.

Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts

We’ve been missing the Arkansas Arts Center since it closed two years ago. Thankfully, we only have to wait one more year to see it reopened and transformed into the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts!

If you want a sneak peek at what’s coming to the reimagined site in MacArthur Park, visit their website, follow them on social media, or sign up for email updates. Soon, you will be able to experience their exhibits, catch performing arts events, and more.

In the meantime, we highly recommend you register for one of their awesome art classes and try learning something new like ceramics, sketching, jewelry, or watercolor painting.

That’s it! We hope you have enjoyed each installment of our New Resident Guide to Little Rock
