Everything You Need to Know About Our Energy-Efficient Apartments

|

While every apartment can be described as “luxurious” here at The Pointe North Hills, there is an additional adjective that most people often do not realize: energy efficient

From the stainless-steel appliances to the EcoSmart lighting, your lifestyle was in mind when we designed our fabulous and functional floor plans. Almost every single inch was made to look beautiful, save space, and conserve energy. (We even cover the cost of your utilities!)

So, what do you need to know about our energy-efficient apartments? We’re ready to tell you everything!

Energy-Efficient Buildings

One critical design choice we made that helps conserve energy automatically was constructing garden-style apartment buildings with interior hallways. While most apartments in North Little Rock are open to the elements, ours are enclosed.

Our building hallways are independently air-conditioned, so the air conditioning you pay for inside your apartment isn’t escaping into an outdoor hallway or breezeway whenever you open your front door.

This building design helps the air inside stay cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, rather than the opposite. In turn, you will spend less time and money heating and cooling your own luxury apartment!

Energy-Efficient Windows

To continue the energy efficiency, our apartment buildings also feature picture windows filled with a non-toxic argon gas and coated with a low-e glaze.

By employing argon gas between the panes of glass, they work to create thermal insulation and reduce condensation.

With the added low-e (or low-emissivity) glaze coating, these windows can then “reduce energy loss by as much as 30% to 50%” according to the U.S. Office of Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy.

That means most of the energy generated in your apartment is staying in your apartment. Your money isn’t literally going out the window!

Energy-Efficient Lighting

While our apartment buildings and picture windows work hard to keep air inside your apartment, our EcoSmart LED lighting maintains bright, full light for less money.

The recessed lighting and ceiling fans you will find in our energy-efficient apartments all feature these energy-efficient light bulbs and the numbers don’t lie…

According to The Home Depot: “To light up a room, an incandescent lamp might use 60-watts of electricity, while an LED bulb will produce the same amount of light using about 10-watts.”

Because each bulb can save you so much money in energy costs, we highly recommend you replace them with the same bulbs should they ever go out!

Energy-Efficient Appliances

Now, let’s set our sights on our bright, modern kitchens.

Every kitchen in every apartment at The Pointe North Hills comes equipped with stunning stainless-steel appliances, some of which are also ENERGY STAR® certified products.

This ENERGY STAR® certification means that the appliance has been qualified by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as a product that helps saves you money and protect our environment.

Take, for example, the side-by-side GE® refrigerators. These energy-efficient refrigerators are designed to consume at least 10% less energy than the minimum federal efficiency standards by using approximately 643 kWh per year.

Considering that North Little Rock Electric charges $0.09431 per kWh, you’re only spending about $60 a year (or $5 a month) to keep your refrigerator running.

Models with similar features can cost up to $99 per year!

BONUS: Eco-Friendly Countertops

Did you know our energy-efficient apartments are also environmentally friendly? It’s all thanks to the Nano Stone countertops!

The countertops you see in our kitchens, bathrooms, and closets are made from recycled glass that has been crystallized into stone. The crystallized glass is much stronger than natural stone, making our countertops scratch, stain, and even heat resistant.

How cool is that?

There you go! That is everything you need to know about our energy-efficient (and eco-friendly) apartments.
